Increased NHS support for older people across Surrey during Covid-19

A new, free NHS service that is remotely monitoring the health of older people with mental ill-health and their carers during Covid-19 is accepting referrals.

The TIHM Monitoring Service is free of charge and available to people of any age diagnosed with dementia or mild cognitive impairment and people aged 65 and over who have a diagnosis of depression and/or anxiety. The person must also be registered with a Surrey GP. If they have a regular carer, they can also apply for the Service.

The TIHM Monitoring Service aims to reassure people about their health at this difficult time and will step in swiftly to provide advice and support if there are signs a person is becoming unwell. People receiving the Service are given a small package of easy to use digital monitoring devices that are installed in their home collecting information about health and wellbeing. This information is analysed by the technology and any health concerns are automatically flagged to a dedicated NHS Monitoring Team. The Team will investigate the alert and provide the necessary advice and support.
